Stop running ahead!

During this forced time of slowing down, I am reminded of being in the moment. Not running ahead to tomorrow, next week, or next month, but accepting the gift of today.

Sometimes we are guilty of worrying about tomorrow when Yah’s Word tells us to focus on today for two reasons.

  1. We have no idea what tomorrow holds (James 4:13-15).
  2. Today has enough troubles (Matthew 6:34).

The truth of these two scriptures has hit me like a ton of bricks while living through today’s health crisis. When I start to feel anxious, the Holy Spirit reminds me that Yah has always provided for every one of my needs. Every moment He has been faithful to His promises. And at the end of every day, all needs have been met.

While we have legitimate concerns about our families, our health, our finances, our freedom, and fill in the blank, we must remember that Yah is our provider and the sustainer of our lives.

We have to stop running ahead of His provision and worrying about what will happen tomorrow, or what new restriction will come down from the president or if there will be enough toilet tissue for next week. The provision is right here in front of us at this moment.

Take a walk back down memory lane.

Has Yah changed?

Yah remains sovereign. He is still our protector, provider, and our promise keeper. When we think that life is turning upside down, we must reset our thinking to understand that in Yah’s sovereignty, He is reconciling the world to meet His original intentions. And, while taking care of all of that, He continues to provide for His children.

My friend, you were blessed to wake up today. Receive the gift, and come to this divine appointment full of gratitude that Yah sees you, He hears you, and His loving presence is carrying you. Choose to trust Him no matter what the day holds.
